In general
Alice, our beautiful princess, now raised herself to the Queen, is a very nice and popular girl. She has a very good body (anatomy), is proud and with a lovely temperament! In character a happy, social and very independent girl with a sense of humor who knows what she wants! Every day is an adventure with Alice, she has so much energy, charisma and charm.
Alice loves to rush forward in the terrain, up and down hills and steep, jump over brooks, climbing high and sometimes even dangerous.
She likes to play with Ida at the waterside and in the water, Gordon and Josef takes it a bit calmer now because of their age. In winter, she is like a least weasel in full speed throught the snowdrifts and on the ice of Vänern.
However, there is one thing that annoys her. She fails to climb up our high pine trees, where squirrels and ravens sit and tease! Climb on stumps and trees on the ground is a specialty, as well as to cross footbridges and cattle-guards.
It requires a great deal of courage to watch and tend moose, watch the snakes and sneak around in the evening darkness and watch the surroundings. Already as a puppy Alice was a very independent little girl and it continues on that path.
Alice has a high interest of objects, a powerful "engine" and fighting spirit! Unfortunately the engine accelerates all too quickly when wild animals emerges.
She is persistent and have a lot of motivation for playing with her beloved toys. She has strong leg muscles, running daily with a lot of speed as well as jumping high, long and often ...... ....!!! Probably she thinks she's is a kangaroo, but in fact she is named after Alice Spring in Australia!
Her hips are x-rayed with good results, A/B, and by eye examination she got "excellent" (ua) in both eyes as a puppy as well as an adult.
MH (Mental Description)
The 19th of September 2004, Alice did her MH at the age of 18 months.
She showed playfulness, hunting interest and curiosity, "boldness" and had no problems with the gunshots. The courage was there to solve all the exercises and she worked very well in track.
Shows
Alice has had great success at dog shows. She has mostly been shown at the SKK (Swedish Kennel Club) national and international dog shows, with great competition, and been judged by judges from all over Scandinavia, Europe, USA, New Zealand and Panama.
Just two years old, she had full range CAC's (Certificates) in Sweden and so far 2 CAC's in Norway.
She has one CACIB and two R-CACIB.
In connection with the advancing to higher (upper) class in nordic tracking, she is now Swedish Show Champion.
Working and obedience
Alice is practicing obedience, tracking, "messenger trial" and "searching for objects" and was advancing to higher (upper) class nordic tracking at September 28, 2008, and has a 2nd price in obedience I (first class)
When Alice puppies had left home she was very eager to work, tracking as well as "messenger trial". Per started her in a contest in the lower class already in the beginning of September 2007, but it proved to be a little too early. She neighter had time to repeat all the including parts of the test, nor built up her condition. It was only one month since the puppies left. Anyway, she got the result "approved" in lower class nordic tracking.
Puppies
On June 6, 2007 Alice gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies, four females and one male. Now she entered a new phase in her life and she did it as good as everything else.
On April 8, 2009 Alice gave birth to 2 strong puppies, two
males.
She has been a wonderful mother - calm, secure, safe and social and thaught her children to play and be confident.
Her beautiful puppies are presented under Lei-litter and Arctic-litter.
Her daughter Ida is still here with us at home, and her son Sydney we own together with Christina Johansson (the breeder of Alice) at kennel Angeleye's on Öland.
The first puppies are now 2 years old (June 6, 2009) and has developed very well. Social, friendly, happy dogs that get what they want of life without any questions! All five are HD / ED x-rayed with very good results; A-hips, and ua (no remarks) on the elbows. They have all done the MH with no remaining fears and all are gunshot proof!
The young males are 10 weeks (June 17 2009). One of them has
moved to Denmark and the bluemerle, Teddy, we own together
with an other family.
Alice as a puppy
Alice danced into
our lives like a whirlwind on a sunny day of May 2003. She
is a daughter of our beloved Gordon. The collie family also
consists of an half-brother Josef, a seven year old son of
Gordon from a different combination. Alice was born on
Öland, her mothers name is Angeleye's Edge of Heaven, "Yatsy".
The litter consists of two females and two males.
It was a lot trip when we took Alice home but she took it
calmly. She was resting in the back seat all alone. When we
took the first break she jumped around in the whortleberry
wire like she never done otherwise. Finally at home after 6
hours and over 400 km, it was full speed into the house to
discover her new home.
The first thing she saw was a huge teddy bear who belonged
to Gordon, four times her own size. She took the bear,
pushed it and bit it as if she wanted to suckle. The bear
became her sleeping-place and is her favourite.
From the diary, the summer 2003
It is a great pleasure to have a happy, independentand
curious puppy in the house. Alice is a marvellous little
girl. Full of energy and curious to everything that moves.
Her inventiveness is great, sometimes to our annoyance and
consternation, but mostly to laughter!
She is a real charmer who love people and are on the run to
neighbours and other exciting excursions on her own. That we
mislike don't bother Alice at all! She is happy anyway,
talks a bit and then it's all forgotten!
Alice is always hungry and are looking for food everywhere
and eat whatever she finds such as rats, birds, voles, mices,
a snake and a number of butterflies as well as animal wastes.
At home she's a flytrap! She walks around the house,
especially upstairs where she finds little flies and wasps (luckily,
she has not been stung).
Unfortunately, she is up to mischief during the night and
early mornings or when we are occupied with other things.
Siöently she goes into action and three pairs of my
spectable frames and bras have been destroyed. The legs of
our dining room table looks like a beaver have been in
action, and the carpet under the dining room table is
getting smaller and smaller. Also shoes, bags and a large
matress is part of her spoils. She has a feeling for the
more exclusive stuff, so she is expensive to run, the little
girl. Together with Gordon and Josef she had a lot of toys
but finds it even more fun to do "things" of her own will.
I have written down a few stories from our everyday life at
Alice's website under "adventure." There is not so much
about her being up to mischief because only that would fill
a whole website.
Some nasty things, where she almost frightened me to death
has put itself in my memory. She was and is a master at
capturing something good to eat in the nature. She listed
out quickly to keep around shrubs and large trees, where she
found the small birds that have fallen from their nests.
Even some copper snakes were killed. A poor flycatcher flew
in through the patio door in the house and probably
perceived Alice, 3 months, this. With the speed of the
lightening she was able to take a major jump high up in the
window, caught the bird and started to grind it down. I
managed to draw out some of the bird, however, I managed
only with the legs. Yikes, I point - it was really horrible
.
With great self-confidende she stepped in to Götene
Brukshundklubb, 8 weeks old, and introduced herself!
Everyone fell for her charm! Alice has become a "celebrity"
by being happy, brave, curious and very intelligent!
Alice was only 3 months when she did her first track and she
is a natural talent when it comes tracking! Similarly, she
likes to look up things, even things that we put out and not
just everything else that she managed to find and come home
with! The neighbors may have closed because otherwise our
little hooligan, steps up on the tables and eats (steal)
their food!
When Alice was 3 ½ months she scared us securely by jumping
out of the car window. She was at her place in the back seat
and we had parked the car in the shade at a camp until they
have clear space for the caravan. Per had pulled down the
window to just under half in the driver's seat! Surely she
discovered that fast as the lightning, jumped over to the
driver's seat, climbed up on the steering wheel and tuched
the car horn (so it sounded over the camping) and nimble as
a cat she jumped out of the car window!
There were no time for us to do anything but luckily it went
well! It was a high jump for the small legs but Alice was
just on her way out to pee.....!
When Alice was four months we made our debut at puppy shows.
It has gone very well, she has proved even there to be to
her advantage. Has been in brilliant mood, charming and very
sweet! A whole bunch of precious puppy rosettes adorn now
her merit board.
Alice loves challenges and tricky dog games belongs to her
favorite employment. She moves her pads and boxes, or spins,
solve problems and receive candy! It is done fast and easy!
